About the company

Lean Construction Institute UK is the trading name of LCI-uk Limited, a company limited by guarantee incorporated in 2005.

Our objects (set out in our Memorandum and Articles) are to:

  1. To advance the education of the public in general (and particularly amongst those working in the construction industry) on the subject of lean construction and to promote research and study for the public benefit in all aspects of that subject and to publish the useful result.

  2. To promote sustainable development for the benefit of the public by:

(a) the prudent use of resources

(b) the promotion of sustainable means of achieving economic growth and regeneration and the reduction of the effect of construction on the environment, including the promotion of study and research in such subjects provided that the useful results of such study are disseminated to the public at large.

 

Sustainable development means “development which meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs”.


We are in discussion with the Charity Commission about the possibility of turning LCI-uk into an Educational Charity. This will have a number of benefits that support our long term aims.
