LCI-UK awarded Charitable Status
The directors of LCI-UK are pleased to announce that with effect from 31 December 2010, LCI-UK has charitable status (our charity number is 1139606).
This is the conclusion of a lengthy process in which we have re-assessed the role and purpose of the organisation in consultation with the members. The granting of charitable status also reflects the beginning of a new period in which we seek to support research into lean construction principles and best practice as well as disseminate those results freely.
To enable the charity to do this, the directors are looking forward to working with all interested organisations and individuals across the construction industry and academia through our events, publications and activities, and to deepen our engagement with other organisations who work within the public sector.
Following the LCI-UK AGM in January the directors will be looking ahead to the work of the charity in 2011 and beyond; we anticipate that this will include a number of events including a major Lean Construction Institute Summit towards the end of 2011.
