Membership is open to individuals from across the construction supply chain—clients, designers, contractors, sub-contractors, specialists, suppliers and consultants and to academic institutions as well as to interested members of the public.
Individual members pay £100 per year. Each individual member has one vote at company meetings.
Academic Institutions (FE/HE) pay £200 per calendar year from 1.1.2011 - membership is free until then. Academic membership is restricted to institutions with a .ac.uk email address. Each institute has one vote at company meetings.
Discounted Membership - is offered to people with Lean Construction Qualifications
LCI-UK would like to encourage people with Lean Construction Qualifications to join and actively contribute to the activities of the charity. We would also like to acknowledge the effort those who have gained the qualifications have put in.
We therefore offer a discount of £25 from the first year of membership for holders of Lean Construction qualifications.
We currently recognise the following:
- BTEC Construction Lean Improvement Techniques
- Business Improvement Techniques S/NVQ (Applied to the Construction Industry). All levels of NVQ qualify for the discount.
- Lean Construction Module - offered by Loughborough Universtiy
- Lean Integrated Design and Production - offered by the the University of Salford
If you have one of these qualifications please ensure that you fill in the appropriate box on the application for membership form.
If you have a qualification in Lean Construction which is not listed here, please contact Louise Ebrey. We will then review the qualification and if appropriate add it to the above list.

At some point soon we plan to create an institutional membership for organisations other than colleges and universities. If this option interests you please let us know so that we can notify you as soon as it is available.
